It was easy for me to come up with the many excellent books that i loved, the stories and characters i remembered, but i was not sure that i ever read a book which taught me a direct life lesson. I just finished the three musketeers is the beautiful, easy to hold and read everyman edition. Perhaps it is because of that presumed simplicity that the complexity of this novel caught me so off guard. Unfortunately, the three musketeers was a huge No assembly line, then or now, could ever turn out a narrative as joyful, as eccentric, as maddeningly human as “the three musketeers.” It recounts the adventures of a young man named d�artagnan after he leaves home to become a musketeer.

I tried to read it again last year after picking up a copy at a used book sale, but the copy i picked up was huge and unwieldy and i gave up.

Their support is real people, and they are always friendly and supportive. Naturally, i eyed it with much doubt and worry, thinking i’d never get to even half of it. It was a promise that dumas fufilled throughout the book’s nearly 600 pages (in my edition). What’s not to love on all of this, right? The three musketeers is an ageless story which was serialized for a newspaper, hence the page turning adventure and fast pace.
